"Frame für Frame" is a TV format for animated short films, proactively developed as a co-production between Studio Wesen and Maresch & Sturm. Following a successful pitch, the show was realized in collaboration with the ORF and was first broadcast on November 17, 2025, at 11:30 PM on ORF 2.

The motivation behind the format development was to provide the Austrian animation scene with a long-overdue platform on public television. The core idea of the show is not just to screen films, but to let the filmmakers speak for themselves.

In this way, "Frame für Frame" offers a look behind the scenes and reveals the diverse spectrum of the medium. The show informs, raises awareness, and helps to make animation experienceable as a cultural form.

For the show's visual identity, a comprehensive motion design package was created, including the complete broadcast packaging (opener, lower thirds, bumpers). The design reflects the handcrafted nature of the medium: a split-screen layout shifting between aspect ratios and a stylized frame rate visually emphasize that animation is truly created frame by frame.

The premiere achieved a 6% market share with 47,000 viewers. The episode remains available online in the ORF Mediathek for up to one year after its initial broadcast: Frame für Frame
