MQ Libelle

Client work | Animated Branding System

The Libelle is a public space and event location on the roof of the Leopold Museum in Vienna's MuseumsQuartier (MQ). To reflect the various functions and the diverse crowd of this space, the idea of a collaborative approach emerged. The project was opened up, and additional artists were invited to contribute.

To make this possible, a common framework for the illustration and animation work was defined: from the basic shapes and types of movement to the formats for the final output. Communication and coordination among all participants became a central task.

Seven specific aspects of the location were tackled by illustrators and animators. The result are seven individual "dragonflies", which are used as a versatile, animated logo system both statically and in motion.
